Hi All,
I have a few questions around the as-override feature in BGP.
example
Router a ( AS1 ) Router b ( AS2 ) router c ( AS3 ) router d ( Transit Provider )
Let's say router c is the edge router and we place as-override on router C towards our transit provider router D.
1. From the transit provider prospective router D would this hide AS1 and AS2 and show all traffic coming from AS3?
2. the AS-Override feature will only come into play when traffic is leaving router c going to router D in the egress direction?
3. when on router c and i do a show ip bgp neighbor x.x.x.x advertised routes will it only show the override'd AS3?
i am looking to lab this at some point. just be good to know how people have used it before. I see allot of examples when it's done on the PE devices running layer 3 mpls when you have multiple CE device in the same AS. I just wondered what we expect to see in my topology above?
Thanks
