Hi Friend,
"BAD magic number" which gives me a meaning that you have a corrupt image on your bootflash.
WHY don't you format the flash and xmodem the image again and I hope that should take care of the issue.
HTH, if yes please rate the post.

Hi Friend,
I know there is no format command available and neither I have done it on access servers.
Can you try xmodem without format and see if it prompts for overwritting the current image or something like that.

Ankur

Hello,
You can also tftp to the AS5300 the commands are exactly the same as on a 2600. Just make sure everything is exactly as it is below. rommon is very picky about it being case sensitive. Just substitute your variables and you should be good to go.
rommon 15 > tftpdnld
rommon 16 > IP_ADDRESS=171.68.171.0
rommon 17 > IP_SUBNET_MASK=255.255.254.0
rommon 18 > DEFAULT_GATEWAY=171.68.170.3
rommon 19 > TFTP_SERVER=171.69.1.129
rommon 20 > TFTP_FILE=c2600-is-mz.113-2.0.3.Q
rommon 21 > tftpdnld

Hi,
check with the following
Router boots in boot mode, with the following messages on the console:
device does not contain a valid
magic number
boot: cannot open "flash:"
boot: cannot determine first file name on
device "flash:"
ans:
The Flash is empty or the filesystem is corrupted. Copy a valid image on the Flash, and while copying, you will be prompted to erase the old Flash (if one exists). Then reload the router.
