ASR 1001-X Red STAT LED

I pulled an ASR 1001-X out of inventory and booted it up.  The STAT LED is showing RED.  Looking at the documentation this is called a system failure.  Is this a hardware problem, or can it be fixed with a software recovery?

Without any output from console, I'd recommend getting the hardware RMA-ed.

I do not currently have a support agreement on this router.  It was decommissioned a couple of years ago, and it's been sitting in a storage room since.  Can I still RMA it?
