How to activate a license once you have a PAK (Product Authorization Key):
1. Go to www.cisco.com/go/license
2. Type the PAK you received on the form and submit it;
3. Activate the license on the ASR1000.

Thanks a lot but still not sure if after installing the license and reload asr all is done or if needed to specify throughput_36g feature in some way or just license boot level ipbase is needed.
Another question is how can I backup the actual license considering I could be forced to rollback in case of any problem.

it all depends on what feature you looking, you need unversal image to have all the features you looking for.
you can copy your exiting license from your device to tftp.

Here the license feature I have, the new license should just add support for 36 Gb/s,
