I have an asr 1002-x with the default 5GB throughput licence. How can I determine when do I need to upgrade to 10GB throughput licence? How can i monitor the current throughput, e.g. show plattform ...

I dont think you can check the present throughput on the ASR1k router using a command but you can figure that out after checking the combined traffic rate of all the interfaces on the router.
You can check the configured throughput level using the command "show platform hardware throughput level". Another indication of hitting a bottleneck on your throughput would be to check the command "show platform hardware qfp active statistics drop | exclude _0_". This command will show you the drops that are happening on the QFP - the forwarding Engine on ASR1k. Though this command output will not really mean that you are hitting any bottlenecks, but it will show any drops that are happening at on the forwarding engine. So after the max throughput rate is reached, you should see drops incrementing in this output.
Hope this helps.

Command to check the throughput may have been added after 2015...
show platform hardware qfp active datapath utilization
Seems to work with ISR and ASR.
