ASR 902 upgrade & extract image

Hello!

We are upgrading IOS XE in our ASR 902 from 3.x to 16.12.06

IOS XE 3.x was in sub-package mode, i.e. system image file was "bootflash:Image/packages.conf"

We have upgrading rommon to 15.6(48r)S.

We have upgrading IOS XE 3.x to 16.12.06 with consolidated package, i.e. system image file is "bootflash:asr900rsp2-universalk9_npe.16.12.06.SPA.bin", now, but in the bootflash, there are a lot of old files, there is no much free space.

Configuration register is 0x2, value unchanged.

What command do we need to enter to free up space from unused files? What commands need to unpack consolidated package and return the ASR 902 to sub-package mode ?
