%IOSXE_SPA-6-UPDOWN: Interface TenGigabitEthernet0/0/1, link down due to local fault.

I read a post that says:

I sorted out the issue with the below command since they work in WAN mode by default

"hw-module subslot 0/0 enable LAN"

But what happens when you run that command on that subslot, if you already using Interface TE 0/0/0 for your WAN

I just want to use Interface TE 0/0/1 for the LAN

Thank you!

Hello,

The command "hw-module subslot 0/0 enable LAN" is used to move the interface from WAN mode (default) to LAN mode. This is usually required when you are connecting the port to ur LAN environment. You can check the present mode using the command

show controllers wanphy 0/0/1

Was the port ever up or it never came up. If it never came up, you may try changing the mode but i think since the error is pointing to local fault, it may be the problem with fiber or SFP.

Please let me know if that helps.
