Guys,

I have an evaluation license for the SPA-1X10GE-LV2 recently inserted into our ASR1002x router.  I need to purchase the full License and need to know the name and type of License need for this SPA-1X10GE-‎LV2 part.  Can someone assist me with this information please. Thanks

Hello @smithsinc

The SPA-1X10GE-L-V2 is a Cisco Shared Port Adapter (SPA) that provides a single 10-Gigabit Ethernet port for Cisco routers, such as the ASR1002-X. To transition from an evaluation license to a permanent license, you will need to purchase the appropriate permanent license for this hardware.

For the SPA-1X10GE-L-V2, the license you need is typically referred to as a "Right-to-Use (RTU) license" or a "permanent feature license" for the specific SPA module. The exact license name and type can vary depending on your region and Cisco's licensing structure, but here are the general steps and details:

  1. License Type: The SPA-1X10GE-L-V2 typically requires a permanent RTU license for 10-Gigabit Ethernet functionality. This is often tied to the router's software and feature set.

  2. Part Number: The specific part number for the license may vary, but you should look for something like:

    • L-SLSPA10G-RTU: This is a common SKU for enabling the 10-Gigabit Ethernet SPA functionality.
  3. How to Purchase:

    • Contact your Cisco reseller or partner to purchase the license. Provide them with the part number of the SPA (SPA-1X10GE-L-V2) and the router model (ASR1002-X).
    • Ensure you provide the serial number of your router and SPA module, as Cisco may require this information to generate the license.
  4. Smart Licensing: Cisco has transitioned to a Smart Licensing model for many of its products. You may need to register the license in Cisco's Smart Licensing portal after purchase.

  5. Verification: Once you purchase and activate the license, you can verify it on your ASR1002-X router using the following command:

    show license

To ensure you get the correct license, I recommend reaching out to your Cisco account manager or authorized Cisco reseller. They will confirm the exact license SKU and assist with the purchase and activation process.

Hope This Helps!!!
