Hi
We are running a pair of ASR 9006 with a A9K-VSM-500 running CGN.
The ASR is a beast, does what it is supposed to, and has been a remarkably stable workhorse for us.
But they are expensive, and we are in a discussion to upgrade to 100Gbit/s. And a Catalyst 9500 actually covers most of our needs now, bar the CGN function.
So we are discussing a way out of our dependency on the ASR, but we unfortunately need a centralized NAT function for a couple of years or more. We are laying the plans for it, but a university has a lot of dark corners and.. Theese things take time.
Is there an alternative way to go? Maybe a Citrix or F5 unit that can scale to 20-30k users and 15Gbit/s?
