ASR901 as Branch CPE / 1Gbit

Hello,

i'm looking for an Access Router to connect sites with up to 1Gbit over an Fibre Ethernet Link to a central access Router.

The LAN site will be connected over a 802.1q trunk to an (non) cisco switch and there will be four IP-Adresses on four subinterfaces. QoS is used, one VLAN is used for VOIP.

A Third Port will be used for a small Bandwidth backup Link (SDSL or low Bandwidth Ethernet)

It`s planned to use BGP as Routing Protocol to the the Central Access Router.

Is the new ASR901 Router a good device for this? For example the Model A901-6CZ-F-A? I saw, that this box is positioned for another market (Mobile Wireless Access). Is this device a real router?

Compared to a "normal" Router, e.g. a 3925E are there any important differences? What what be your recommondation?

Among various differences, rhe ASR router switch packet in hardware, and use a new type of IOS. You best choice is to contact pre-sales of a certified Cisco reseller for guidance.
