I have an issue loggin into a router through telnet. When i try dialling into the router through Aux port, it tkaes me into ROMMON mode.
I see that it is configured to boot from the flash, but i guess the IOS image is corrupted as it is giving a bad checksum.
rommon 69 > confreg
Configuration Summary
enabled are:
load rom after netboot fails
console baud: 9600
boot: image specified by the boot system commands
or default to: cisco2-C3600
rommon 79 > dir flash:
File size Checksum File name
11288672 bytes (0xac4060) 0x711a c3620-is-mz.122-23a.bin (bad checksum: 0x721e)
rommon 80 >
Will reloading of the router help in resolving this problem, or do I have to load a new IOS image again?
Please help.

xmodem is done through console port not the aux port.

Reloading the router will not correct an already corrupted image. I am afraid you will need to xmodem another valid image in.

Thanx for the Reply.
Can XMODEM be accomplished using a Auxillary connection?? Or do i need to have a console connectin to PC, and through the Hyperterminal it has to be done?
