I'm putting together an expansion for a customers network and need a high density 10/100/1000 switch-type aggregation with link agg etc and basic OSPF routing.
The problem is that the GE backhaul links are over a transmission network that does not support link-loss forwarding and so need to run BFD across it. Looking at the data sheets, the 6500 is ideal for port density/carrier class redundancy but appears the sup module does not support BFD. Is this true? Any other options or do I need to cost in a 76xx chassis with the required 65xx switch blades?
