Booting from TFTP

Hi friends, I Have a Catalyst 6509 with a SUP720-3B.

I have nor enough space on my flash card. Is it possible to boot other IOS using TFTP for a test? What could be the correct commands?

You don't say whether you are running CatOS on the supervisor and IOS on the MSFC (Hybrid) or if you are running IOS on both (Native).

Assuming Native then no you cannot boot from a TFTP server. From a Cisco whitepaper -

Unlike the Cisco Catalyst OS, net booting a Cisco IOS Software image from a TFTP server is not supported because the supervisor image is a bundled image for two processors. The runtime image location (c6sup-is-mz-) must be stored on a device local to the switch processor (sup-bootflash) or the flash card (slot0:, disk0:, disk1:).

Yes, there are documents in cisco.com to do that, but I tried recently do it without positive result.
