We're having a duscussion here and the bet is the same cable - straight-thru ethernet - is used for a serial card be it single, dual or quad port - is that true?

Not true. T1 / E1 cable has his own pinout, pairing, and impedance characteristics, different from ethernet.
That is easily revelaled with an Internet search.

Maybe I should have worded that differantly - knowing T1 uses 1245 while etherenet user 123
6 - a straight thru patch cable can be used ?

As above - cables are different, each application uses his own.
Then if you want to do things the wrong way - up to you and good luck.

Ok - to connect them back-2-back a t1 crossover is used where pins 12 7 45 are crossed. But if we are connecting to a serial rj45 card what type of cable is used and can a straight-thru ethernet cable be used?

Again - for the third time - a straight T1 cable. Not an Ethernet cable.

Not looking to be difficult but - the straight thru ethernet will
work - right, your point is have a proper cable made ?

I will reiterate Paolos comments. You save nothing and induce a little doubt by jury rigging. just put the right cable in.
Don't mess with Layer 1.
