We have to hardcode the duplex/speed on interfaces of ISR 4431.It is fine on inbuilt interfaces after giving “no negotiation auto” command. We are getting error message while configuring the command on the external card Gig interface only.
Is it normal that NIM-XXX interfaces do not support hardcoding of duplex/speed?
If we want to hard code duplex and speed, then is there any option.

Did you try using the interface command "media rj" first before setting the other interface-level commands?

SFP ports will always go into full duplex/speed 1000. This is normal.

It is in auto, half duplex, 100 mpbs
Ok, you are confusing me.
I thought you said the port is an SFP port?
The image you've posted is for a dual-personality port (image BELOW). A dual-personality port is a port with an RJ-45 and an SFP port, but either the RJ-45 port OR the SFP can be used.
The picture you've posted shows that the port USED is the RJ-45 with the duplex and speed settings hard-coded.

Thanks Leo,
We are able to hard code duplex/speed in inbuilt interfaces.
But unable to run this command on external cards (NIM-1GE) for all ISR routers… We are getting error message while configuring the command on the external card Gig interface only.
Sorry for the confusion.
I tried checking in datasheets, however I am not sure if it is a default behavior that some external cards like NIM-1GE support only auto-auto.

I have not tried "media rj" command.
I will try with "media type rj45"

After giving command Router(config-if)# media-type rj45, it worked. Thanks.
