Card not present - How do I configure a WIC on a ISR 4331?

Greetings,

I have a Cisco ISR 4331 that I'm configuring to replace an older router. I'm adding a 2MFT-T1/E1 card into the first 'slot', which appears to be labeled NIM 1. Typically, I've added a card by typing......

card type t1 0 1

.....which, ironically, is what I see to add when i boot the router and look at the current config. When I type this command, I get the message 'Card not present'.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Chris

Hello,

the issue might be the clocking. Try and configure:

no network-clock synchronization participate

on the ISR 4331.

For reference, check how the network clocking for the 4000 series differs from other platforms:

Network Synchronization for the Cisco 4000 Series ISRs

Post the complete output to the command "sh version" and "sh inventory".

Not sure what happened....maybe an additional space in there somewhere, but the command went through.

Next question......Since the Card Type command worked, Controller T1 0/1/0 & Controller T1 0/1/1 was created. In my previous experience, this should have also created Serial interfaces, but it didn't and I can't create this. These serial interfaces are needed to create a multilink interface. I'm working with a bonded-t1.

Everything looks to be "there".  The IOS can see the card.

Please try to upgrade the firmware of the router.  I can see it's running on a "rebuild" version.

If the problem persist, I recommend raising a TAC Case because this is beginning to look like CSCuo99866 or CSCus36896.
