cat 5 and poe support

hi all

at customer site thay have a network set up with cat 5 cable is it possible to go for poe using cat 5 or cat 5 e is required. please suggest.

The differences between plain Cat5 and CAT5E are in the HF-characteristics. Power over Ethernet utilizes LF signalling and DC conductivity. Hence, there is no problem in using PoE with CAT5 cabling. I know quite a few customers who have been using this combination for a long time.
