Hello,
Cat 6e cabling is 4-pair (8 wires) as well, the main difference is that Cat 6e is able to support Gigabit speeds.
Check the document below for specs:

Cat6e is four pair / eight wires.
I believe it is "enhanced" such that it can handle the inevitable 10Gig over copper spec.
Properly terminated, it shouldn't have any (negative) effect for 10/100/1000 Mb ethernet.
This is not jumper cabling that you'll want to try to terminate by hand. Chances are you won't make it to spec. Many/most "Network People" can't even make a Cat5 cable to spec.
There's more magic there than you'd imagine.
Good Luck

Hello Scott
thanks for ur input, so i can connect 3750 EMI switch with cat 6e no issues rt.somebody was telling that there will be 9 wires that was a wrong information rt?.
9th one is for monitoring purpose,i dont know why people are spreading wrong information.
so scott the only diff is it will support 10 gig speed.
please update me if u have any more details.
thanks ®ds
