Hi All,

I have 2 issues.

1. Uplink connection between  WS-C3560E-48TD-E and WS-C2960S-48TD-L, i have the twinGig convertor  module, just need compatible SFP modules for that twinGig and 2960S 10G  and patch cores for that?!

2. I have 15 km long fiber optic  connection and it is LC and Single Mode core, i need to connect them to  cisco equipments, as i researched there is only GLC-EX-SMD can support  higher than 10km distance and only 3750 and 3400 supports that SFP looks  like, so want some suggesting from people? which one have to choose and  any other solution for that?

waiting for your response

Hi,

If you are going to use the twinGig convertor, that changes the speed from 10Gig to 1Gig.

If you want to connect using 10Gig, then you need to use X2 module

can you clarify you are trying to connect using 10Gig or 1Gig?

HTH

1. We have a branch 20km far away and it need to be connected our backbone switch(we using 3560E)

2. We have server switches 2960S 10G connected by stack, so they need to connect to backbone switch by 10G

i am just asking what kind of SFP and cable will be used 2960S and 3560E by 10G?

You'll need X2-10GB-ER for the 3560E.

Your problem is the 2960S because it won't support "ER" modules.

Is there any possibility WS-C3560G-24TS can connect to 3570 by SFP for 20km distance ? and how about choose SFP instead of GLC-EX-SMD?

about that 10G is placing in one rack, so it doesn't need to support so long, just want to know what is the most common SFP or module, cable used for connect 3560E to 2960S by 10G?
