Cisco 1760 ADSL unable to connect

Hi

I have configued a Cisco 1760 with an ADSL WIC that is connecting to an ISP. The ATM interface appears to come up and I can see the CHAP authentication getting a success, but I can get no traffic through the router.

If I ping anything I get a failure, both from the router and from a PC which should be natted.

If i do a SHOW IP ARP, i see the default gateway there, but with an INCOMPLETE MAC address.

Any thoughts

Your router does not know where to find the defgw as it is not on the same subnet. This makes your default route invalid.

Try to change the default route as follows:

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 dialer0

or alternatively add a route for the IP of the defgw:

ip route 203.17.XX.XX 255.255.255.255 dialer0

Regards,

Leo
