Cisco 1841 Router Flash slot bent

I have a Cisco 1841 router and the flash card slot has been bent out of place and the CLI is not responding. I am wondering if I am able to buy a new flash port or if there are any manuals that show something similar

Hello @EKirk ,

First of all, you should try to remove the compact flash and see it the router displays something on the console when you power it on.

Second, given the fact that the router is not covered anymore by support being EOL/EOS from 2018, I would try to open the router and examine the pins on the connector that go into the compact flash when this is inserted in the slot. If you are lucky, those pins are unbent and unbroken which means you still have a chance to straiten the compact flash metal guides and have the flash go correctly in his slot.

Here is a document detailing how to open the chassis and locate the internal components: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/access/1800/1841/hardware/installation/guide/hw/18comp.html

Hope this helps.

Regards, LG
