Cisco 1941 Getting Started with TalkTalk DSL Settings

I'm just starting out with a Cisco 1941 router and I would like to configure it for my home DSL.

The settings I have from talk talk are as follows:

Setting

Value
UsernameThis is your telephone number followed by @talktalk.net. E.g. 1234567891@talktalk.net
PasswordWe use automated network authentication so there is no need for a password. You can leave this blank.
VPI0
VCI38
MTU1432
DNSSet as automatic (or similar)
EncapsulationPPP over ATM (PPPoA) using VC-MUX
Modulation TypeAuto

However, the Cisco Configuration Professional will not allow me to set the password to blank. Can anyone advise me on how to do this?

Also if anyone else out there have successful config settings for the dialer for talktalk I'd really appreciate if you could share them.

Hello,

Cisco Configuration Professional is very limited, I don't think it will let you enter a blank password at all.

Below is what the dialer interface should look like. Try and get to the command line, you can then just configure the CHAP username:

interface Dialer0
description ADSL_DIALER
ip address negotiated
ip mtu 1432
encapsulation ppp
dialer pool 1
dialer-group 1
tcp adjust-mss 1392
ppp authentication chap pap callin
ppp chap hostname USERNAME
