Cisco 1941W - AP Module looses configuration at reload

Hi Guys,

Something strange is happening to my Cisco 1941W. Every time I reboot the router i loose the running configuration of the service-module (Access Point module). The weird thing is that the router's configuration remain the same. I made sure i save the configuration by issuing the wr command on the service module console but still happens. My router's current IOS version is 15.0(1)M1 and my AP's is 12.4(21a)JA1.

I also did another test by making sure the startup-configuration was identical to the running configuration and when I reload the router still happens.

This is very weird and annoying. Any ideas of what could be causing this issue?

Vladimir

You might be hitting the bug CSCtg07557. You could try upgrading the AP image and the router image

Hi vik, I read the article and it is exactly what is happening to me. Now I just need to purchase a support plan from Cisco in order to download the upgrade darn it!. I just can't believe why Cisco doesn't provide free IOS upgrade without an SmartNet contract.

Thanks you so much. I might just have to deal with it for now.

Vik,

You are a god send. I was able to upgrade to 15.2-2.T from 15.0.1 but I encounter a interesting issue: i can't seems to access the internet from my local network and/or wireless network. I'm able to ping an address on the internet (4.2.2.2) from the router but if I specify an interface the ping fails. I haven't made any changes to my current ACL list though. However, if I bring the router back to iOS 15.0.1 everything works fine.

Is there an troublooting procedure that you recommend for me to follow? i tried re-applying ACL to the outside interface but nothing happened. I also tried rebooting the router and AP module but didn't work.

Please help!

Upgrade yoru IOS to c1900-universalk9-mz.SPA.152-4.M1.bin to resolve the issue.

That did it Ahad Aboss.

Here's a quick question: the wireless module uses an AP801 but I can't find it on the Cisco website AT ALL. Should I be looking for using a different name? i want to also upgrade the IOS of the wireless module.

Thanks again for your help

Excellent. Thanks Vik. You led me to the right place from the beginning. You and Ahad Aboss are awesome.

I'm going to mark your first response as the answer to my question so that other can benefit from it.
