Hello,
today I've got a Cisco 2801 that I'm trying to factory reset but I can't because "Password Recovery Functionality is Disabled"
I've already tried and followed various guides and threads here on Cisco Support Community but I can't in any ways issue a break command.
I've tried with putty and Tera Term but simply the router ignore the break command.
I've issued the break command immediately after powered on the router, before and after IOS loading and after "Image text-base: 0x60079E70, data-base: 0x6290B660".
I've also replaced IOS image on the compact flash without success.
I thought that break command was not sent so I've tried with another 2801 that I have to enter in ROMMON boot and I had no problems so the break command is working.
I don't know anymore what to do, I have already tried everything without success.
I'm connecting the router via the original cisco serial cable at the COM2 of my r710 (I'm not using a USB cable) but anyways it isn't a cable problem because with my other router like already said I have no problems to enter the break command and enter in ROMMON.
Do you think that there's something wrong with the router?
Thanks

Finally after almost 3 days I have successfully factory reset the router.
I had to hook this router to an old laptop using Console to USB cable and during boot after press CTRL+PAUSE I've finally got the message that told me if I want to reset the router.
I don't know why with my PC and my server the break command on this router won't work anyway the important thing is that the router now is fully functional.
