Hello.
I've been reading the Datasheet for the Cisco 2821, and it says that the PDVM2-64 can be used on it. However, there are 3 PDVM slots available on the 2821. I was wondering if there is a limit as to how many of the PDVM2-64 can be put in the router? Can I only put 1 or can I fill all 3 slots with PDVM2-64s?

Hello @juandcc2014,
you can fill all 3 slots with PDVM2-64s and even use 2 NMs to add another 2 of these, if you like.
So the very maximum you can run on a 2821 are 5 PDVM2-64s in total.
HTH!

A related query on the 2821 and usage of the PDVM2-64 generated this browser AI response (bold emphasis mine):
The Cisco 2821 is a router that supports the PVDM2-64 module, which is a high-density packet voice digital signal processor module used for voice and video processing. The PVDM2-64 module provides additional DSP resources for handling voice calls and other communication services. The Cisco 2821 has built-in PVDM2-32, and it is possible to install a PVDM2-64 on a PVDM slot. However, there have been reports of issues when configuring the PVDM2-64 on the Cisco 2821, such as errors when trying to configure the voice-card 1. It is important to note that the PVDM2-64 module is not compatible with all Cisco 2821 models, and it is recommended to check the compatibility before installation. The PVDM2-64 module is also used for transcoding and conferencing, and it can be configured using the Cisco IOS software.

I wouldn't trust AI regarding this topic, given that there is not much documentation or discussion about this question. For example, I asked chatgpt how many PDVM slots it has and it told me it has 2(when it has 3).

As a general rule, I don't trust AI answers either, as the decades old GIGO still applies.
However, at least my particular browser's AI, basically, summarizes the content of information the match engine found, and provides references to what it examined. I.e. you can review what the AI reviewed manually.
For an AI result like this, if I was concerned about the AI summary, I would further scan the match results, myself.
In any case, I didn't post the AI info with an endorsement, and I didn't manually review the references. I do, more or less, "trust" the AI "saw" something that generated the AI summary response material I highlighted, but without said review, I too certainly don't trust it to be accurate. (It's not only a question whether the AI interpreted the source material correctly, but the "quality" of the particular reference material itself.)
