Hi,
I am trying to find the port that maps to VLAN1 on the front of my Cisco 2960G 24-TC-L V02 Switch.
I assume that port 1 on the front of my switch maps to FA0/1 in the CLI?
I've set the IP address for VLAN1, but I just need to know which port to plug the cable into so that I can connect it to the network.
Thanks

You can use the commands "sh vlan" or "sh interface status".

if you haven't made any changes to the switch then all ports will map to vlan 1

Hi.
The only change it made was to set an IP address to VLAN1.
All the other ports 1 - 24 are unassigned.
I thought that you may be able to use one of the ports at the end of the switch for linking it to another switch.
Thanks

On a new 2960G switch you can use any port to connect to another switch on your network. Ensure that the interface VLAN 1 on the 2960G is up for you to be able to manage or ping the new switch.

Ok thanks.
I thought maybe you could use on of the extra ports at the end that are not in the 24 port range.
Like on the HP Switches. They call them link ports.
I just didn't want to use up a port in the 1-24 range for linking to another switch.
