cisco 3845 router memory upgrade issue (urgent)

Hi all

One of my customer wants to upgarde memory of 3845 router from 256 to 512

but when tried to add one more 256 stick into avalable slot its gives me error and does not accept the stick.cosole gives message like follws

DIMM slot0 not with compatible.

pls help me urgentaly.

how can i upgrade the memory.is it router boot rom version problem or what problem

Is the memory cisco original or from an approved vendor? Because if it is not, you have no guarantees that it work and cisco will not do anything to make it work.

memory is cisco origanal.is it possible that two memories from two diiferent make will be cause this issue? i mean one is hynex and another is from another make?or is it boot rom code problem?

You can try swapping around the memory to see where the problem stays. Also upgrading to latest rommon is a simple donwload and command.
