Cisco 3850 running EIGRP and BGP simultaneously?

I'm pretty sure this is a simple question but I'd like to know officially whether a Cisco 3850 running IOS 16.6.5 effectively run EIGRP and BGP at the same time?  I know that the 3850 supports both EIGRP and BGP but I'm really wondering how well it would support running both protocols at the same time.  Essentially having one interface connected to a BGP router and another interface or two connected to a separate OSPF enabled network.

Thanks for any comments.

Re: Cisco 3850 running EIGRP and BGP simultaneously?

Hello Jonathan,

yes the C3850 can run BGP and EIGRP or BGP and OSPF at the same time.

Of course you cannot expect teh C3850 to be able to support a full BGP table that is made of 780,000 routes.

within the prefix limits of the platform you can use two routing protocols.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
