I have a question to ask.
Recently I performed a firmware upgrade for my Cisco 3850 Switch from 03.06.08E to 16.6.9 . After the firmware upgrade, I found out that the switch is unable to synchronize to my NTP Server, 802.1x stops working and the Radius used to manage the switch stops working. I have checked my firewall and found out that the NTP traffic from the switch to the NTP Server stops after the upgrade.
After that I decided to add the commands ip routing , ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 <Next Hop IP Address> and remove the ip default-gateway <Next Hop IP Address> . The services that wasn't working before started to work.
I performed another test which is to add no ip routing , no ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 <Next Hop IP Address> and add back the ip default-gateway <Next Hop IP Address> followed by a reboot of the switch. After that I tested the services to be working as well.
Based on the above test, it seems like ip routing is enabled by default for 16.6.9. But online documentation mentions that ip routing is disabled by default. What I want to know is that is ip routing enabled by default for 16.6.9?
An official answer from Cisco Personnel will be great for me. Appreciate the assistance on the matter.
