Hi,
I am using IPSec on a Cisco 4321 router for an enterprise customer. I have enabled the SecurityK9 feature so is working as expected. What I am unsure of, is that the licence is set to 'RighttoUse' instead of permanent. Am I compliant in using this or do I need to purchase and install a SEC licence (SL-4320-SEC-K9=)?
Getting some conflicting answers on google. Some saying that it is a package and can use it without issue - others saying it is 'RightToUse' based on cisco's honour system whereby you need to buy the licence.
Cheers
Paul

if you do a sho license, and you see the period used counter, then it is a right to use, not permanent, and you'll need to buy a permanent license for this feature. I think typically it's 90 days, so you would see something less than 90 days remaining before the RTU expires.

No there is no counter. It is not 'EvalRightToUse', just 'RightToUse'.
Index 3 Feature: securityk9
Period left: Life time
License Type: RightToUse
License State: Active, In Use
License Count: Non-Counted
License Priority: Low
