Hello guys,
I've been trying to factory reset a cisco 4431 but for some reason, everytime I hit break with Putty or CTLR+break with Hyper terminal the router refuses to entered in ROMMON. I breifly entered it before but I can't access it no more and thsi is what it displayed:
rommon 2 > set
PS1=rommon ! >
ETHER_SPEED_MODE=4
RET_2_RTS=
TFTP_RETRY_COUNT=20
LICENSE_BOOT_LEVEL=
MCP_STARTUP_TRACEFLAGS=00000000:00000000
BOOT=isr4400-universalk9.16.06.07.SPA.bin,1;isr4400-universalk9.16.06.04.SPA.bin,1;
RET_2_RCALTS=
RANDOM_NUM=1076643487
BSI=-1
Anyone has encountered any of this situations before and how were you able to entered ROMMON mode to factory reset it?
Thanks

Ok, so the problem is the application used for console is not accepting the Ctrl+Break sequence.
If this is correct, what are you using, Putty?

Post the complete output to the command "dir bootflash:".

Hello @Leo Laohoo
I can't do that since the router still have username and password which it was lost or forgotten. I've attahched a txt file from the router while booting but I can't get into the ROMMON for some reason.

I believe every ISR4000 purchased comes with a USB 5-pin mini USB Type-B to USB Type-A console cable.
Was this ever used?

I am using RJ45 to USB type A since the one you mentioned was stolen.

Hey @Leo Laohoo
I was able to get in the ROMMON mode and reset the router. I unplug all the cables, let it sit for a minute and then turned on the router pressing the spacebar and I was able to get into ROMMON. Thanks for your help!
