Cisco 6509 IOS upgrade with ISSU (In Service Software Upgrade)

Hi,

We are trying to test ios upgrade for Cisco 6509 switch with issu (in service software upgrade).

We were able to upgrade the ios but there is one issue in issu

6509's supviseengine720 gigabit port lost the connection during the upgrade process.

Is this a bug in issu or a feature!!!

Can you provide a link to the instructions you used?

I do not think there a bug here. During this process you are loading a new software veriosn onto the supervisor. While the supervisor is booting the new image the ports on that supervisor will be unavailable. If you want to use the ports of the supervisors you could use one port on each supervisor in a port-channel, but during the upgrade part of the port-channel will be unavailable.
