Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know why the Cisco 887 has gone end of life so early? Is it because of all the issues with the Alcatel-Lucent DSL Chipsets? I've heard the recommended replacement is the 887VA which I believe has a broadcom chipset for ADSL2+?

Any info would be greatly received!
Thanks
Matt

I can't answer that, but Cisco are also EOL'ing the 857/867/877 ISRs and HWIC-1ADSL etc. (all share the same Alcatel/STMicro chipset).
The HWIC is being replaced by a 'Multi Mode VDSL2/ADSL/2/2+ EHWIC' (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps10536/data_sheet_c78-644629.pdf) which also has a Broadcom chipset. The recommended replacement for the 857/867/877 is the 887VA.
