Cisco C1117-4p VDSL Down

Hi All,

I have a Cisco ISR c1117 router at home that I use to replace the standard sky router. I had setup everything and it was working perfectly fine, I also upgraded the iOS-xe and had full connectivity until I came back from holiday.

I've plugged in a replacement sky router and my internet does work but no longer with the Cisco router. I downgraded the iOS-xe, reset the device and added the configuration but still get the same issue.

When I show controller the daemon says 'training' and the modem line is not initialized..

Seems to suggest the sky router cfg details are different to the old sky rtr, First of all do you have internet access via your new sky rtr if you just plug a laptop directly into it?

Also can you psot the cfg of the cisco rtr please>

sh ip int brief
sh arp
sh ip route
sh run

Hi Paul,

Many thanks for your reply, it's much appreciated. After plugging in the new sky router everything works, I haven't tried the old one. As mentioned, I have changed my cisco router to correspond with the new sky routers config but to no avail.. It looks like a layer 1 problem as the interface is down/down but my main concerns are its either broken or the firmware has disabled a feature..

@paul driver Hi, have you managed to view the output from my last post? I dont understand why the modem status says the "line is not initialized"? I've changed all phone cable plus dsl filter, fiddled with different firmware versions and updated the controller firmware but I still get to the same situation..

Hello,

your router is apparently not training to anything. Try and manually configure the operating mode (after configuring that, reboot the device):

C1117(config-controller)# controller vdsl 0/2/0
C1117(config-controller)# operating mode vdsl2

@Georg Pauwen

Hi Georg, Sincere thanks for your reply. I have tried that previously and tested again but it still says the same. I've attached the boot up logs and sh controller..
