Cisco IOS upgrade through USB - 4451 Router

Hi Team,

 

Good Evening!

 

i am not able to upgrade the IOS in 4451, i have completed the below 4 steps.

 

please advise?

Step1    HQ#dir usb0:
Step2    HQ#copy usb0: isr4400-universalk9.16.06.09.SPA.bin
up
Step3   HQ#dir flash:

Step4   HQ#verify bootflash:/ isr4400-universalk9.16.06.09.SPA.binisr4400-universalk9.16.06.09.SPA.bin

 

Step5   HQ#upgrade rom-monitor filename bootflash:/isr4400-universalk9.16.06.09.SPA.binisr4400-universalk9.16.06.09.SPA.bin R0

Are you able to read the file in USB ? ( make sure USB is FAT 32 formatted, and nice to have low capacity like 8GB)

 

can you post dir USB content also?

 

What are you trying to do ROMMON Upgrade  ?

 

what is the current version - post-show version

the command is for upgrading the rommon (let's call it the BIOS) but the file you are using is the IOS (Operating System)

You've either got the wrong file or are using the wrong command

 

 

The router reboots to do the ROMMON upgrade, so the BIOS does not have the ability to access the USB drive. My experience has been that you have to copy the ROMMON upgrade file to the bootflash, and use that location when you issue the "upgrade rom-monitor" command.
