Cisco IR829 WLAN RED LED Blink

Hello All,

I have Cisco IR829. I can see RED LED flashing on WLAN interface, whereas I am not using WLAN.

I am using this router for routing purpose, not for Wireless/WLAN.

Do you have any idea, why it is flashing and how we can resolve this issue.

I have many router with the same model/OS/Config, but none of them reflex this issue.

Thanks

Hello,

what is the output of:

IR829#service-module wlan-ap 0 status

Dear Georg Pauwen,

Please find the output below.

TRN-5105-T-CCU-01#service-module wlan-ap 0 status
Service Module is Cisco wlan-ap0
Service Module supports session via TTY line 4
Service Module is failed
Service Module reset on error is disabled
Service Module heartbeat-reset is enabled
Service Module is in fail open
Service Module status is not available

Rajinder,

I have been dealing with the same problem for quite a while now. I have been working with some of the folks from Cisco to determine the cause and a solution for a while now but at this time we have not been able to isolate the issue. Please do update this thread if you have had any further developments in terms of a solution.

Thanks

Hello,

what happens if you configure the interface with an IP address and connect ? This just to make sure that it is not a hardware fault, and the module is actually functioning.

interface wlan-ap0
ip address 172.16.1.1 255.255.255.0

!

829#service-module wlan-ap 0 session

Make sure your VTY lines are configured wih:

transport input all
