Cisco ISR 4351 + Switching Module

I have Cisco ISR4351 router with 24 port switching module

Would like to know if this router is rebooted or powered on what is the default boot sequence ?

- Will the router gets booted up first followed by the switching module ?

Or is it vice versa ?

Is there any way to change the boot sequence ?

What is the right boot sequence ?

 - Probably you only have option as to whether it too comes online or not :

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/access/interfaces/eesm/software/configuration/guide/4451_config.html#Shutting%20Down%20and%20Reloading%20the%20Cisco%20SM-X%20Layer%202/3%20ESM

When the mirror will then always repond to me with ' The only thing that exceeds your brilliance is your beauty! '

Basically I want the boot sequence as below when the Cisco ISR 4351 powers on
- 1st switching module should boot

- 2nd routing module should boot

Is there any way this can be done by any configuration change ? How to check the existing boot sequence configuration ?

Hello @RS19 ,

I don't think this is possible as the ethernet switch module is actually a service module hosted by the router,

So the router has to come up first and then it will trigger the switching module to come up because the intercommunication between the two "modules" have to be ready.

The document provided by @marce1000 describes the use of a temporary VLAN for booting purposes and the mapping of the ESM modules uplinks to internal GE ports on the router.

Hope to help
