Hello,
I have a Cisco RV042 router but i can't get the subnet to communicate with each other. I can only ping the main IP address. I can't ping the subnets from a computer connected to the router. Any help please?

Here is the response I got from a cisco agent support :
The RV042G does not support InterVLAN routing which is why you are running into the issues that you have described below. It only supports per port VLANs which you have already seen.
I’d recommend to change to a router which supports InterVLAN routing such as RV340/45 – please see datasheet below:
So I guess there is not much I hope to accomplish with this router.
Thanks anyway for your all your replies.

You have not given us much information to work with. Can you tell us how you have configured the RV042? Can you post the output of the ip routing table?

Thanks for your reply Richard. Here is some details about the router config.
the device IP address is 192.168.15.1 0/24
I have 4 subnets on it
192.168.10.1 0/24
192.168.11.1 0/24
192.168.12.1 0/24
192.168.13.1 0/24
DHCP is disabled. There is MAC Filtering though. No connection to a WAN port yet as of now.
The router is configured as gateway with RIP disabled
everythihg else is default as far as firewall, Vlan (all ports are on VLAN1)
Now a ping form the Diagnostic window to the subnets as well as to the device ip works. But when the ping is made from the computer connected to the router, only the ping to the device IP address works the ping to the subnets IPs don't work.
one of the lan port is connected to a switch that has vlans with assigned ports on each
Vlan 1 default. No port assigned to that
Vlan 10
vlan 11
vlan 12 and
vlan 13
all ports on the switch are on mode access except port 1 which has mode trunck and is on vlan 10
pings within Vlans work. pings to other vlans wont work. even when connected to the router on the trunk port of the switch.

I am a bit puzzled. You tell us that all ports are on VLAN1. How can there be multiple subnets if all ports are in vlan 1?

This may not be the right setting. I don't know. May be not the right router for what i want to accomplish. I don't know.
Actually, I did configure the Vlans on the switch only. So the vlans are set on the switch only not on the router. the reason being is because the router comes with preconfigured vlans
VLAN1
VLAN2
VLAN3
VLAN4
and on the switch I have 10, 11, 12 and 13 different from the preconfigured vlans on the router. Unless you advice me to change the vlans on the switch to match those on the router. If maybe you have other suggestions please go ahead. My only goal is to have Vlans with different IPs address and have the vlans talk to each other, that's all. Which ever config that have sens and works. i will go for it
THANKS a lot

You have told us that you have configured 4 new vlans on the switch in addition to the default vlan 1 and that port 1 on the switch is configured as a trunk. Please tell us about the configuration of the router interface which connects to this switch.

There is no particular configuration on the router's port connected to the switch. I all is default. cause the only access i have to configure the router is the web interface. I can't access the CLI on that router.
