I have a SM-SRE-910-K9 in a 29XX. It came with 4Gb and is expandable to 8Gb. Can I just order a SM-MEM-VLP-4GB and upgrade it myself to 8Gb, or is this type of memory upgrade something that has to be done at Cisco at the time of order? I thought I read somewhere that the memory upgrade was not field installable. How would I go about getting the SRE upgraded to 8Gb.
Thanks for your help.

Yes you are right Sam. Refer to the SRE datasheet:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/modules/ps10598/data_sheet_c78-553913.html
SM-MEM-VLP-4GB | Optional memory upgrade for SM-SRE-900-K9 and SM-SRE-910-K9 (no field upgrades, factory install only) |
It is not field upgradeable.
