Hi,
I recently got my hands on a CISCO887VAG-4G-GA-K9 router, but there seems to be a problem with the license it has. By default it should have an advipservices license, but this is what it's showing :

Could you tell me if there is a way to fix that and have it show the advipservices license as usual ( I think it should be Permanent and not RightToUse with this platform ) Thanks in advance.

Hi
try this below save and reload for right to use license see if it brings it permanent , it should say active in use
SUMMARY STEPS
1. license right-to-use activate{ipbase |ipservices | lanbase} {all | evaluation all } [slot slot-number] [ acceptEULA]
2. reload [ LINE | at | cancel | in | slot stack-member-number | standby-cpu ]
3. show license right-to-use usage [ slot slot-number ]

I've tried the described steps and this is the output :
yourname#license right-to-use ?
move Move to permanent mode
yourname#license right-to-use move advipservices
% License is already in RightToUse state
yourname#show license right-to-use
Index 1 Feature: advipservices
Period left: Life time
License Type: RightToUse
License State: Active, Not in Use, EULA accepted
License Count: Non-Counted
License Priority: Low
The command license right-to-use activate seems to be missing, do I need another IOS version in order for this to wrok? Could it be that the original license has been revoked ? Is it possible to revoke a license?

I would try the move as you posted, its not an ios issue , if that doesn't work raise a case on link below with license team there pretty helpful
You can also activate the license using the license right-to-use move command. Perform the following tasks to activate the license:
Step 2 Activate Evaluation License
Step 3 Run the license right-to-use move command

So the license has been revoked ? If I need to purchase another one, this mean that the original one is no longer valid ? I've experienced this situation before and when I tried to activate advipservices (SL-880-AIS) it didn't actually work. The license was still RightToUse . I wouldn't want to waste another license on this if it's not going to work properly.
I guess I would have to keep trying and will update if I find a way around this. In the end I would probably try with a brand new license, but it seems such a waste, since the platform should have it by default.
Thanks.

why would your license be revoked ? if its corrupt or something is gone wrong during installation with it, license team should be able to reset it , I have had to do it before

Well, the device doesn't seem to be covered by Cisco, so I guess asking the licensing team is out of the question, because I don't have a contract covering this device. It's just a router that used to be a backup device and now the company got rid of it and it would fit perfectly for my needs. The things is that I thought that the platform has a default license and nothing can happen to it, I guess I was wrong.
