Clearing all of a routers configuration

Hello everyone, 

So I am trying to erase everything and reset my router (cisco 2811), inscluding the hostname, descriptions, the ip addresses, etc. everything on the router. I have tried the write erase and erase startup-config commands, however, they do not clear the hostname or descriptions, etc. that are on the router. What is the command/s to do this?

You did a reload after those erase commands and still saw hostname and descriptions, etc.?

Before the reload did you, per chance, "see" if the startup config was still in flash?
