does this statement indicate that

the switch will acquire a dhcp address

from the router?

!

interface Vlan1

no ip address

no ip route-cache

shutdown

!

interface Vlan134

ip address dhcp

no ip route-cache

!

ip http server

Im adding a switch to the network and

naturally want to make it standard with the other switches

Hi

This is going to depend how u r connected to the other switch i.e u r connected through a trunk port or a access port,i think its not possible if u r connected with a trunk port with the other switch,if u r connected with a access port assigned in the vlan134 then u can get the ip address.

Thanks

Mahmood

no...there is 1 switch connected to the routher

that is configured for dhcp-all other swiches

are hanging of this switch via trunks-since we have multiple vlans.
