Hello,
We have a GE Multilin P-30 Phasor Data Concentrator connected to a CGS2520 switch that sends data to an offsite Phasor Data Concentrator using multicast. TCP connections to this PDC work just fine when the switchport is configured as an access port with the proper vlan membership, but when we attempt to stream multicast, the switch will not forward unless the port is configured as trunk with the proper vlan configured as native. We have reviewed the configuration on the PDC to ensure it is not trunking or otherwise tagging frames. When we move the PDC connection to a 3560 switch, we do not need to trunk the port, thus proving the PDC configuration is not the issue. We have connected the PDC to other vendors ruggedized switches to further verify the PDC configuration is not the issue. Is this a bug in the CGS? Switch is running 12.2(58)EY1. We have performed some bug searches but have found nothing. We have also tried all three options of port-type configuration and none have resolved the issue. Has anyone seen this problem?
Thank you in advance.
