Please help me in this scenario .
The Scenario is,
i hav PIX 515E with 2 fastethernet ports 100 Mpbs.
and a 4503 switch with supervisor engine IV. and a module with 6 fiber ports,
All 6 fiber ports have been used
Now i want to connect PIX with switch , but the problem is that we r short of ports
If i buy a GBIC and connet to the fast ethernet PIX than the question is "Will there is any issue of speed mismatch ???? "
or
"Can we decrease the Speed of GBIC 5483 to 100 Mpbs ?? "
or please suggest me any other solution.

You can get the 5483 and set the speed and duplex. I think the 4503 is running IOS like CLI.
int gi 0/1
speed 100
duplex full
On the PIX
int e0 100full

Hi,
You cannot change the speed or duplex on GBIC module. It only works on 1000 MBPS.

Hi Syed,
You have only 2 options:
1 Get an ethernet module for your 4503 with 10/100/100 ports which can be configured for speed/duplex.
2. Try connecting another switch if you have a spare one with the fiberuplink to your 4503 fiber module and then connect the PIX to the switch. Set the gateway on your Switch as the PIX.

Thanks again Amit , if i conect PiX to my access switch that is 2950 thru 100 M link .
Will there be no security concern , ok than i will put that link in other VLAN or something else plz suggest
And Please tell me can acl works with 2950 ?
Thanks again

Syed,
You can put your fiber and fix connection into a different vlan. Yes ACL works on 2950 switch and only with enhanced immage.
