Greetings,
I've got an office that is getting a new network build-out in parallel to the existing one. While waiting for fiber we are deploying a Wimax solution, as a holdover. That line is in now, and the move isn't until September.
There are worries about reliability because it's wireless. We have a "live-ish" network on the circuit, which is to say I have a core and a few access switches but nothing is connected yet.
Does anyone have a recommendation on a way to test the circuit? I don't know if maybe there is a way to do it through the Cisco equipment, or possibly a third party application that I can put on a PC and plug int. Ideally it would not only generate traffic but monitor it as well----I do have Solar winds although it's limited because i'ts waiting on a server upgrade------ so if the PC could generate the traffic I could probalby monitor it that way.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello,
So I'm not entirely sure what you exactly want to test. If you just want verify connectivity to the Internet, a user PC on your access switches should do.
Also, since your using Solarwinds, have you considered looking into the Engineer's Toolset? There's quite a few tools that might be helpful. There is a 14-day free trial for it.

Well I wanted to test the stability of the line and performance of the wireless solution with some actual traffic on it, vs. just doing a ping test which will tell me it's up, but not give me any idea of performance.
Unfortunately I already used my free Solar Winds trial, but it was a good idea.
Thanks for taking the time to help.
