DHCP configuration on router

Hi,

If we define a dhcp pool range( one subnet for example ), exclude some IP from the same. And there is no ethernet interface from this router from the defined pool range. will this pool work?

I think it wont! It may need one of the excluded IP to be given to ethernet so that the users when request IP this ethernet will start distributing the IP and other paraments from the defined pool.

Please share any experience.

Any link on Cisco.com.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

It should work but you need the dhcp-relay feature (ip helper-address cmd) on the router connected to the host.
