Dear All,
Can I use a Channelized E-1 Card (in Cisco 7204VXR) for providing dial up(PSTN ) Connection to remote end?
The setup will be placed in the service provider end.
I will be using a DB-15 to RJ-45 Connector to connect the channelized E-1 port to a Multiplexer. Now will the dialer through PSTN connection can get connected to the Channelized E-1 Ports ?

Hi Raja,
I have a 3640 having an E1 card taking in dialin connections.. you can as well do it on a 7204.. you need to configure the E1 as CAS, and assign proper values to have the dialin of calls into the E1...
config will be similar to this:
controller E1 0/0
framing NO-CRC4
ds0-group 1 timeslots 1-15,17-31 type r2-digital r2-compelled
cas-custom 1
country colombia
debounce-time 25
seizure-ack-time 50
dnis-digits min 1 max 7
chat-script offhook "" "ATH1" OK
chat-script callback ABORT ERROR ABORT BUSY "" "ATZ" OK "ATDT \T" TIMEOUT60 CONNECT \c

modemcap entry TACD:MSC=&F&D2S0=0S34=18000S40=10S10=50S21=0S29=1S32=1S39=5S41=2

Thanks for your reply Raj.
But i want to know whether i require any modem / Converter to make this solution work.
Whether i require a digital modem in my router to make this solution work. And i dont think so that Cisco 7204 Router supports R2 Protocol......
Kindly help me in resolving the same.

R.Rajaraman.
