Distribute list modification in OSPF config

Hi,

I have an OPSF 200 process running. Under this I have configured a Distribute list which is referencing a prefix list to filter routes.

I have a requirement of modifying that prefix list. Please let me know if that will require restarting the OSPF process.

I have my router running in Production.

Thanks and Regards

Are you adding to that prefix list - if so, I don't think a restart will be needed of the OSPF process.

If you are taking things out of the prefix list then an OSPF restart would be needed.

Hi

no definitely not required , that should only ever be done in extreme circumstances , resetting process causes all neighbours to drop and all redistributed routes to be reset it will flip your whole network , last resort and not really a production command clear ip ospf process
