Does Formatting of flash effects the switch 3550

Hi,

Recently i have formatted the flash to upload the new IOS on 3550. But after formatting I lost the access to switch. The switch is reacable and it is responding to ping. The moment when i try to SSH into that again, the connectivity breaks (ping breaks).

So does formatting of flash wiill have any effect of SSH.

In my experience no, the switch for the most part will only look at flash at boot up.

What was the old version and new version of IOS?

Hi

The switch was running with IOS:c3560-ipbasek9-mz.122-46.SE.bin. And I didnt copied the new IOS as i lost the connectivity as soon as i formatted the flash.

We are trying to get the console of switch and it is in remote location, will update once we  can get the console.
