We have an MPLS network where all the remote sites(50) connect via MPLS to the datacenter which has a 3945 router. Now we are setting up a DR site which will also be connected via MPLS to this same network. The DR site also has an internet connection which will be connected to ASA. We do not have a fiber connection between the DR and the datacenter due to costs and will use MPLS for everything.
We use EIGRP for advertising our networks internally over MPLS. All the remote sites have their internet default route towards the datacenter ASA. How can I set up the DR router to send only the needed networks over the WAN and send the internet traffic over the DR ASA. If I do policy routing then if the DR ASA fails then internet traffic will not automatically failover to the Datacenter ASA. Does anyone have a suggestion and maybe a sample config. When the datacenter is down we also then need all the sites to failover to the DR ASA for internet and the DR site for all applications which when we advertise the server network from there it will automatically fail over to the DR.
Since we are a L3 network we cannot advertise our server network on the DR site till the datacenter is down. How is everyone doing this or does someone have a simple solution/idea to do this in minimum time.?
Thanks so much.
